Julin Teoh is a pianist, a choir conductor, a soprano and also a vocal instructor. She is the principal of JL Music House where she gives lectures and tutorials to her private students in piano and also vocal lessons.

Apart from this, she is currently the music instructor of the Choir Society of high school and primary school in Penang where she is entrusted to guide and nurture a group of students to know and better appreciate the beauty of music.

Julin holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Performing Arts (Music) from University of Malaya. She also has a performance certificate from Associated Board of Royal School of Music (ABRSM) and Diploma in London College of Music and Media.

During her undergraduates years (2005-2008), she studied under the tutelage of Prof. Ian Lim Kien Seng, which imparted to her valuable choir conducting skills and vocal performance which she put to use in several choir events in the university. Among the events were the Music Showcase of Cultural Centre, University of Malaya (Choir – Soprano and Conductor, Gamelan Terengganu, Percussion Experimental and House of Rhythm) ; 5th Young Singers Choral Festival ; “Perhimpunan Siswa Merdeka MAKUM & KeKKWa 2006” at National Univrsity Malaysia (UKM) ; Choral Music Teaching Workshop at University Sains Malaysia (USM) ; International Project of The Development of Choral Music (Course for Choral Directors) Created by The Croatia Choral Directors Association HUZ.

She was also an excellent student and was the recipient of Dean’s List in Cultural Centre, University of Malaya for two consecutive semesters (Semester I & II). In 2007, she represented Second Residential College in the “UM Festival Seni” 2007 & 2008 Choir Competition as the director and conductor. Won the fourth place. She is also appointed as Director and Choir Conductor in Second Residential College, University of Malaya in the year of 2006 and 2007. In 2010, appointed as Choir Conductor of Mayson Musical Society for “Music for Life Charity Concert 2010” with Munsang College Alumni Chorus from Hong Kong and Musica Sinfonietta.

She has shown great interest and passion in music since her secondary school years (1998 – 2002). She continues her piano lesson with Mr. Daniel Chan and vocal lesson with Mdm. Ong Chiew Khim. This is evident through her various society works in the school. She was the school choir accompanist for three consecutive years. She was subsequently promoted twice to become the Choir Director and was also Head of Choir Disciplinary Board for two consecutive years.
